My favorite "free" knit sweater is Gail B version of the 5 hour baby sweater.

Here is the hat pattern. I did it in garter stitch for the brim.

It's free and is really fun to work up. The booties are 5 hour baby sweater booties. I did my own version.

Problem with out of sight projects is that I have a heartbreakingly cute kimono on needles but not finished. It is from the Mason Dixon book. I started another in pink with a couple of more rows before starting the neck.
